Last day of the first month

Drove up our local mountain pass (near the REAL Hidden Valley Ranch of dressing fame) to take this week's pictures. A hawk was flying very close to me and I was able to get a couple shots. Didn't realize there were TWO hawks at one point, sadly I wasn't able to get both in one shot, but it was a nice encounter with nature.

Rose a'la Mission or Mission a'la Rose?

A rose by any other name

I read in the local paper last week that the day after tomorrow they want volunteers to help prune all the roses at the Mission Rose garden. So last weekend was a good day to go and photograph them before they are gone until Spring. I admit some of the flowers were looking a little sad, but I still found some nice ones to photograph.

Almost didn't make it

I almost went to bed without posting Day 12! But I'm here and I give you... My truck, dirt and all.



I even got a cool sunflair, which as a Firefly fan I kind of dig. ;-)

Too bad the Germans invaded and made it a company I no longer wanted to work for, the view was something else!

Day 10

After just over a week I've come to realize if I stick to the current format of attempting to take and post a photo ever day, this blog will end by February. I don't take my camera to work and this time of year it's quite dark by the time I get home. So my photos are likely to be quite monotonous, the dog, the kids, something in or near my driveway.... So, new plan! Today I took a little trip to my old place of work, which happens to be one of the loveliest places around. I took lots of pictures there and then popped down to the Mission and took some more. I will post these photos through out the week, unless I find something to photograph for the day.


I hope to find something to photograph every weekend in similar fashion, I DO live in a very photogenic town after all. :-)

WHAT was I thinking!?

In a couple of weeks we have the holiday party for our company, the owner prefers to do it in January or February and call it the Winter Gala. So I went shopping for a dress and shoes. I think I must have been suffering from shopping exhaustion, because after looking at shoes that were either ankle breakers or meant for granny to wear to a church social (or just plain ugly) I ended up with THESE. At least they only cost $9.99.

Christmas season isn't technically over until the Day of Epiphany, January 6th. So it's not totally obnoxious that I'm posting Christmas decorations, right?

The view from our front door, it used to be prettier before the wild fires last Spring, that's why you're getting a view of the trees and not the mountains.

For Christmas I got a new camera. So I'm trying a 365 days of pictures experiment. Starting today, January 1, I will attempt to take and post a photo for every day of 2010. There may be days when I am unable to take any pictures, on those days I'll post an older picture. There may also be days when I'm unable to post and on those days I will attempt to take a picture to post at a later date. Let the experiment begin with an "arty" picture I took of my sisters sweet potatoes.
